Insurance companies have many requirements for a therapist to be taken into their network and the medical credentialing application process is time-consuming and arduous.
Once apart of a network there are strict limitations on therapeutic interventions, length of treatment, as well as rules about reimbursement rates/balance as well as cancelations or no show billing that don’t allow therapists to have a livable wage.
As I continue on in my practice I will continually revaluate whether or not embarking on the medical credentialing process is something I can offer my clients.

Sessions are 50 minutes on Saturdays/Sundays, and currently bi-weekly (every other week). I sometimes have other times available as well. I am primarily seeing folks virtually however at times I am able to meet in person.
I try to keep the last few minutes of our time together to debrief from the processing and discuss last steps. There may be sessions where we are reaching a difficult point in the work and we are close to the end of our time. If that occurs we will discuss the best path to closure together.

I offer a number of sliding scale spots for my Individual and Partnership offerings. Offering sliding scale is important to me in the fight against economic inequality.
Please note I prioritize providing sliding scale to BIPOC individuals as well as those that are trans, undocumented and sex workers. Please reach out to see if I have space available. To learn more about how I think about sliding scale please see Alexis J. Cunningfolk’s work here.

If you have to cancel your appointment I ask for notification 48 hours in advance. If the session is canceled with less than 48 hour notice the full session fee will be charged. In case of emergency, the fee can be waived at my discretion.
For rescheduling please let me know at least 5 days in advance of our appointment. This is so I am able to schedule someone else into the appointment time. I will do my best to accommodate rescheduling but we might not always be able to find a time that works for us both.
If you are more than 20 minutes late to a session and have not made contact with me, I will end the session and you will be responsible for the session fee.
